About me

Hi. I'm Jane, a Hunter Valley local who loves to create.

I am a bit of an all rounder loving to make things with all different materials, and have a particular style that has kind of stuck with my for many years that is featured in a lot of my works. It is a bit unique, and is a little bit like mosaic, which I also love, as each shape is individual and a closed shape all of it's own. I have used this style in many types of images and it has lent itself well towards my self expression when going through anxiety and depression to get out of my my emotions and putting them out onto paper, instead of stuck in my head.

I have used this art style to create a range of colourful, unique and beautiful card designs, some with words and some as just images. I sell these at local markets and had them in local shops for a time.

More recently I have collated a range of drawings that I made over a set of years, taking me through a range of emotions and overcoming depression and grief, and put these into a book called "Feeling Words". Each of the images was made when I was in that emotion or feeling, and helped me to get through by "getting it out". I believe that self expression through art, and in fact any kind of art or craft making can help improve mental health. My hope is that others will use the images in this book, and the prompting questions that go with them, to help in their own journey. This book has been well received with some great feedback and I am already about to do my second print run.

Following from this book, I made three others in the "Colour me Healthy" range. "Happy Words", "Angry Words" and "Positive Affirmations", each with it's own target for whom it can benefit for the ability to either get your emotions out, or reach for better feelings and find ways to look for the positives in life. We don't always feel happy, and it is OK to not feel OK, but allowing these emotions and working through them if they seem to want to stick around, can help us move forward into better feelings.

As for my other works... I am currently learning how to make stained glass products (so watch this space), and have been happily crafting with timber, mosaics, and crochet.

I am an avid about recycling and have been producing small baskets using recycled bread-bags and rags along with some wool for stitching. They are cute and I love the fact that I am using rags that my late mother had taken much time to cut into strips and make usable for crochet and craft.

Through this website I hope to offer some of the products that I have made for sale and also POD products that incorporate my design images and style. Most of the things that I am offering for sale here are aimed towards the betterment of mental health, and I sincerely hope that you, or those you love can take benefit from what I have to offer.

I am also on Instagram, FaceBook and hope to be on Etsy soon too.

Mosaic Table

This mosaic table-top was made for my mother who loved chickens almost as much as I do. I love the bold colours and simple, yet effective design.

Pallet Timber Workbench

This timber workbench was made with recycled pallet timber that I pulled apart. It was designed to fit into a particular space in my shed, and functions well to store tools and have a good, solid workbench to use.
